Stateside Speed Shop
Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. We've kept it short, in plain English, and limited to what actually matters when you're buying vintage motorcycle parts.
Using the site
By visiting statesidespeedshop.com you're agreeing to these terms. They cover the website itself plus any orders you place through us — whether direct or via our eBay store. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What we sell
The site catalogs vintage and modern motorcycle parts, collectibles, complete bikes, and related items, sourced from a working garage in Austin, Texas. Most listings link to our eBay store; some can be purchased directly via the site.
Inventory and pricing change. We do our best to keep listings accurate, but a part can sell elsewhere before the site updates, or we can spot a description error after publication. If something's wrong on a listing you tried to buy, we'll tell you before charging anything.
Orders and payment
Orders happen one of three ways:
- Through eBay — eBay's terms and payment rules apply. We honor every eBay sale per eBay's own policies.
- Direct via the site (Stripe checkout) — available on selected items. Stripe processes the card; we ship the part.
- By direct quote (WhatsApp, email) — for custom requests, sourcing inquiries, or items not ready for eBay. We confirm price, condition, and shipping in writing before any payment changes hands.
Until we confirm in writing that we've received your payment and have the part in hand, no sale is final.
Vintage parts: what to expect
Most of what we sell is decades old. Every listing has photos and an honest description of the condition we can verify. We don't sell "new" parts unless the listing specifically says so. By buying a vintage part you accept that:
- Wear, patina, surface oxidation, and minor cosmetic flaws are normal even when not photographed in detail.
- "Working order" is described per the listing — we don't bench-test every part to factory spec.
- Fitment is the buyer's responsibility. We list the bikes a part is known to fit; cross-referencing against your specific bike's serial number and year is on you.
We're happy to answer condition or fitment questions before you buy. WhatsApp is the fastest channel.
Shipping and returns
Shipping costs and timing are quoted per item — small parts ship FedEx Ground, large items ship freight. Full details on our return policy page. Short version: 30-day window, full refund, free return shipping on small items, buyer-paid return shipping on big items, no restocking fees.
What we don't promise
We try hard to get things right but we're a small shop and we make mistakes. We don't promise:
- That the site is always available (Cloudflare is great but the internet has bad days).
- That every listing is 100% accurate. We correct errors as we spot them.
- That a vintage part will perform like a new one. It won't.
- Any specific outcome from using a part in your build — we can't supervise installation or condition of the rest of your bike.
To the extent allowed by law, our maximum responsibility for any problem with an order is the amount you paid for that order, plus shipping. That's it — no consequential damages, no lost-time claims, no "my bike caught fire" claims.
Brand names and logos
Harley-Davidson, Triumph, BSA, Norton, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and other marques are property of their respective owners. We use those names purely to identify the bikes our parts fit. Stateside Speed Shop is independent and not affiliated with any of those manufacturers.
Links to other sites
We link to eBay, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and occasional helpful third-party resources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what they publish or do with your data — their terms apply when you visit them.
Site content
Photos, descriptions, and original guides on the site (engine ID guide, VIN decoder, restoration write-ups) are ours. Feel free to share links to specific pages. Don't reuse our photos or text wholesale on other commercial sites without asking first.
Where these terms apply
We operate out of Texas. Any dispute that can't be resolved over a phone call is governed by Texas state law and handled in Texas courts.
Changes
We update these terms when how we do business changes. The "last updated" date below tells you when. Material changes (anything that meaningfully shifts what you can expect) will be flagged at the top of the site for a reasonable period.
